Goeree-Overflakkee has no less than 25 kilometres of beach, with beautiful dunes, fantastic facilities and free parking at all North Sea beaches. What do you want to do? Sunbathing, swimming, surfing, kiting, horseback riding, dog walking or relax at one of the many beach pavilions. Everything is possible.
Goeree-Overflakkee has guarded and unguarded beaches. Between 1 May and 1 October, the Ouddorp lifeguard team guards two beaches: The beach at Slijkgat at the Flaauwe Werk between posts 10.00 and 11.50.The North Sea beach at the Brouwersdam between posts 21.00 to 22.00. Signs indicate the guarded section of the beach. The rescue posts also function as first-aid posts.
In addition to the North Sea beaches, Goeree-Overflakkee has many other small beaches worth visiting, such as Herkingen, Middelharnis or the Haringvliet beach. These small beaches are usually less crowded, creating a different beach experience.
If you have difficulty walking or are in a wheelchair, it is handy to know where you can access the beach. Accessible beaches on Goeree-Overflakkee are the 3rd block, Flaauwe Werk, ‘t Gorsje, De Kous, Oosterduinpad, Vrijheidsduinpad, Vuurtoren, Westerduinpad, the Westerweg and the Waterleiding. All these beaches have accessible dune crossing. The 3rd block, Flaauwe Werk, De Kous, Oosterduinpad and Westerduinpad beaches have beach wheelchairs available. There are also exemption cards available at the Tourist Information Office to park directly on the beach at Flauwe Werk, Westerduinpad and Oosterduinpad.
